Patchwork Project is a dynamic initiative for the performance of American music. Our goal is to present innovative programs that reflect all of the colors of the American artistic fabric.
Through research, collaboration, and performance we will join together a wide variety of artists to create something new. Our aim in crafting projects is that they will echo the voices of the vast American musical landscape, whether that be through the works of popular composers such as Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein or through exploring the works of lesser-known composers such as Hub Miller and Gabriel Kahane.
Our name is in homage to the process of making a patchwork quilt. Traditionally, scraps or pieces of worn textiles are sewn together to make a vibrant new fabric for use in a variety of ways. We aim to reflect this process in our creation and presentation of our concert programs.
Our inaugural tour was met with great success in Summer of 2016. In 2017, we produced a dynamic art song cabaret called “Our America” in New York City. We are busy crafting our 2018 and 2019 seasons. We want to connect with you and value your support. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about our upcoming projects.
